Born on March 24, 1962, in Mount Shasta, Mark was the beloved son of Kenyon and Naomi Knourek, both of whom preceded him in death.
Mark grew up in Northern California and graduated from Weed High School. In 1986, he made Arizona his home, where he would build not only a successful career but a wide circle of lifelong friendships.
A talented craftsman with a remarkable eye for detail, Mark owned and operated an auto body shop in Tempe, earning a reputation for integrity, precision, and exceptional workmanship. He later worked closely with Talis Construction, painting their fleet trucks. Whether restoring classic cars to their original beauty or engineering creative solutions to complex problems, Mark had a rare gift for building and fixing just about anything. His talent, ingenuity, and pride in his work were evident in every project he touched.
Mark loved the outdoors and cherished the freedom of the open road on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He had a natural ability to make people feel comfortable the moment they met him. Known for his quick wit, easy smile, and genuine nature, he had many friends and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Nicholas Knourek; his brothers, Chris Knourek, Brent Knourek, and Joseph Knourek; along with extended family and many dear friends.
Mark was taken too soon. He had many plans and dreams that did not get the chance to unfold, but the legacy of his craftsmanship, humor, loyalty, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
The Knourek family welcomes and would kindly appreciate flowers for the Celebration of Life for Mark.
