22 février 194515 février 2021

Mary “Bunny” Louise Mitchell, of Gilbert, AZ, formerly of Glens Falls, NY, passed away, February 15, 2021 at the age of 75. Bunny was born February 22, 1945 in Glens Falls, NY and grew up on Glen Lake NY graduating from Lake George High School in 1963. She married her high school sweetheart Michael Mitchell and together had three girls. Originally from Lake George, Mike’s career moved them to a few towns in MA, eventually landing at their beloved home of Gilbert AZ. Bunny was smart, organized, and started her career in banking and moved on to several bookkeeping jobs. She loved to travel, and with her young family she spent many weekends camping on Cape Cod and exploring State Parks around New England. Later in life, she and Mike enjoyed travelling the country for months at a time in their motorhome. Her favorites were Alaska, Port Aransas, Yosemite and Bryce Canyon. Bunny had a love for motorsports, and particularly enjoyed dirt bikes & driving her sand rail at the dunes. Let it be known- she drove her own machines and was an excellent driver who completely understood the mechanics of her toys. An animal lover, the dogs and horses were as much a part of her family as her own children. Rarely did you see her without a Chihuahua at her side, and she volunteered many years with AZ Chihuahua Rescue. Bunny loved her family, Friday night dinner with friends, ice cream, and the beauty of nature you can only see from a great road trip. Bunny passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her husband and children after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Mitchell, Gilbert, AZ; her children, Michelle (Dave) Endries, Manitowoc, WI, Lori (Mike) Cieslinski, Howell, MI- their child/granddaughter Madeline Cieslinski and Emily Mitchell (Jay Dobbins), Battle Creek, MI; and her siblings, Charles “Nipper” Yagar and special friend Ellie Keating, West Bridgewater, MA and Diane Yagar, Queensbury, NY. Bunny was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Bertha Yagar, Glens Falls, NY. A celebration of Bunny’s life will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 pm, Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Mariposa Gardens – Agave Venue, 6747 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ. Arrangements entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care (480) 830-4422

Dear Mike, Mickie, Lori and Emily,
It was a gift to share a friendship with Bunny after having worked with her for one Summer in my junior year of college at Lawn-Boy in Massachusetts. I also remember fondly the couple times I visited your family after you moved to Arizona. Seeing the Grand Canyon and driving through a snowstorm in Flagstaff in May on our way there are memories I hold close to my heart.
May you all be comforted by the love, prayers and support that surround you.

Love, Bettina

Mike and family,
Although I didn’t know Bunny for a long time, I always enjoyed her zest for living. Her mechanical and culinary abilities were admirable. She taught me about chihuahuas as well as about lemon and orange trees. Her graciousness for a New Englander was truly appreciated. I will miss her chuckles and flash of dimples the most.
May she Rest In Peace with hummingbirds.

To Mike and the Mitchell Family.
The Lucero's send their Condolences & Prayers on your lost.
Bunny was truly beautiful inside and out.
We were able to go camping and riding with their crew up at the Cinders at Flagstaff.
Bunny was getting ready to put on her helmet to go riding.
I said " Hey Bunny" is Mike riding with you?
She turned around and looked at me with that grin.
" You All Know the One"!!
"Mike has His and I've Got Mine. She got in and took off."
Never Looked back...

Thinking of you, Emily and your family. It has been fun getting to know Bunny on the many visits to Michigan! A visit to the fair comes to mind! What fun.

We have your family in our thoughts and hope the wonderful memories of your mother will help you through this time.

With much love, John and Alexandra

The boys who shared riding the trails with you were always super impressed with your ability to handle a dirt bike in the woods. Thanks for brother Charlie. I can imagine the fun you experienced blasting the sand dunes out in Arizona with your family. Never try going up a hill in 4th gear!!!

Bless you, Ron Jeckel

When Kris and I moved to Arizona in the late 80’s, it didn’t take long for Mike and Bunny to became like family to us. As a new Mom, Bunny was there to help coach me along. She was so generous and kind and loving. She will always hold a very special place in my heart. She will be missed! Mike, Mickey, Lori and Emily— I know this is a great loss for you all. You will be in my prayers and my hope is as you release the tears, many fond memories will come to your mind, make you giggle and fill your heart back up again! She was a wonderful woman!

P.S. We still make her peanut butter/oatmeal/chocolate chip cookies! They are the best!!

Al Orton and I rented an apartment from Bunny's parents during the years Mike was in Vietnam. Bunny was a frequent visitor and enjoyed skating on the lake with Al who used to plow a big rink off the Yager's dock. Hot chocolate and sweets in our apartment after skating were always a treat with Bunny who was smart, energetic, and funny. Those were happy moments and treasured memories.

Then there was our girl time when, after work, Bunny and I would share a Pepsi and chips, gossip, catch up on news, and laugh a lot. We both moved away from New York about 50 years or more ago, but our good times and the enrichment she contributed to my life will not be forgotten. My heart goes out to her family.
