Born in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Mike served 4 years in the U.S. Army. While in the Army Mike was stationed in Italy and was eventually honorably discharged in 1969. Mike lived a life with heart, humor, and unmistakable swagger. His passions were legendary – OU football, a little pool hustling, golfing, and most of all being “A” dad and the number one Papa to his 13 grandkids, a role he wore with pride and joy.
Mike is survived by the love of his life, Suzanne; his children Jennifer, Melanie, Travis and Tyson; his bonus daughters Lisa and Amy; and his siblings Susan, Russell and John. He leaves behind a family that adored him and a legacy rooted in love, laughter, and unforgettable stories.
If you were lucky enough to have known Mike, then you were lucky enough to have known a true one-of-a-kind dude with legendary status. He will be missed, loved and talked about for the rest of our days – and somehow, he wouldn’t have it any other way.
