Norman Felix Peterson

Norman Felix Peterson, age 95, of Florence, Arizona passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023. Norman was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 5, 1928, to Felix Valentine Peterson and Norma Margaret Peterson (Poulton).

Norman married Louise Alice Peterson on May 28th, 1949, in Los Angeles, California. They had together three daughters, 9 grandkids, 31 great grandchildren, and even a great great-grandchild.

Norman worked a career in sales for air conditioning and heating for 40 years. He also served as a technician fifth grade (abbreviated T/5 or Tec 5) in the United States Army from 1946 to 1948. The rank was created to recognize enlisted soldiers with special technical skills and Norman's was cooking. He served as First Cook and received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army Occupation Medal Japan.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served for many years in the Mesa, AZ Temple with his wife, Louise Peterson. Norman loved boating, waterskiing, travelling, hiking, music, and playing the organ. He had a deep love for his family, his beloved wife, Louise Alice Peterson, and another love of his life, his beautiful golden retriever, Sadie, who will miss him immensely.

Norman is survived his daughters Janet Wittenberg, Karen Knowles, and Dena Peterson; his grandchildren David Wittenberg, Cindy Hulterstrom (Steve Hulterstrom), Lisa Mascho (Richard Mascho), Michael Wittenberg, Amy Smith (Travis Smith), Wendy Michel (Ryan Michel), Kimberly White (Shawn White), Matthew Larson (Ning Larson), Aaron Knowles, his great grandchildren Skye Smith, Sherrod Smith (Brooklyn Smith), Shea Smith, Sage Smith, Carson Michel, Sophie Michel, Emily Michel, Logan Michel, Sarah Michel, Abby Larson, Austin Cowart, Aleyah White, Elias White, EllyAnna White, Lucas Larson, Nalani Larson, Benjamin Larson, Garrett Knowles, Keagan Knowles, Reagan Knowles, Madison Knowles, Shyla Debrine, Amy Hollingsworth, Aaron Wittenberg, Olivia Wittenberg, Ashley Mascho, Emily Mascho, Ricky Mascho, Camie Hulterstrom, Blake Hulterstrom, Lexie Hulterstrom, and his great great-grandchild Emya Knowles.

Norman was preceded in death by his wife Louise Alice Peterson; his father Felix Valentine Peterson, his mother Norma Margaret Peterson (Poulton); his brother Kenneth Russell Peterson, his son-in-law David Wittenberg.

A graveside service with military honors for Norman will be held Friday, August 18, 2023, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care, 6747 E Broadway Rd, Mesa, Arizona 85206.

Norman will be laid to rest at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park with his wife Louise Alice Peterson.
