

He was a devoted husband, beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, friend, and faithful churchman. Norris leaves behind a legacy of faith, persistence, compassion, generosity and strength.He was Born the fifth of seven children on the family farm in Scandia Valley Township, Morrison County, Minnesota on April 11, 1929. Norris lived a life marked by dedication to God, his family, his business, and his values. Known for his steady presence and generous spirit, he touched the lives of many through both his personal warmth, playful spirit and his unwavering commitment to doing what was right.
Norris spent much of his professional life as the business owner of Norfil Manufacturing, along with his wife Phyllis. He was respected not only for his skill but also for his integrity. Outside of work, he found joy in serving his church and family, traveling, fishing, hunting and camping, often sharing his passions with those around him. He loved watching sports in every season. Whether he was tending to his garden, or running the shop, Norris always gave the best of himself.
Above all, Norris was a family man. He is survived by Phyllis Norwood, wife of almost 75 years. Siblings, Phyllis Ann Harden and Earl Norwood, Children, Jeff and Mary Norwood, Alan and Patty Norwood and Rick and Carlee Norwood, Gwen and Jerry Gibson. He had 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, all of whom carry his memory of a well lived life. His love was a constant in their lives, a steady anchor through all seasons.
Two memorial services will be held: One, on June 2, 1pm at Broadway Christian Church, 7335 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa AZ 85208.
The Second will be held on July 19, 2pm at Kent Christian Center, 9440 Canyon Dr, Kent WA 98030. Each will include a reception to follow where friends and loved ones will celebrate his life, share stories, and honor the legacy of a man who gave so much.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Northwest Teen Challenge, a Christian addiction recovery program, a cause close to Norris's heart.
Most importantly, though Norris Norwood is gone from us, he is rejoicing with his heavenly father whom he served faithfully, and his influence endures in the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
