Born on December 8, 1948, in Forest City, Iowa, Pamela was the cherished daughter of Clarence and Cheryl Quisling. She was raised in northern Iowa with her sister, Juli, and brother, Craig, and graduated from Woden-Crystal Lake High School in 1967.
Pamela began her adult life in Waterloo, Iowa, before settling in Delhi, where she lived for over 30 years. It was there she proudly owned and operated the Rocky Nook restaurant, becoming a beloved figure in the community with her warm spirit and tireless work ethic—touching lives one meal and one conversation at a time.
Always adventurous and determined, Pamela achieved a major milestone when she earned her private pilot’s license. She and her then-husband, Jim Hook, spent many memorable hours flying their personal airplane, embracing the freedom of the skies and the joy of shared experiences.
Pamela and Jim Hook shared three daughters—Tammy, Holly, and Crystal. Though their marriage eventually ended, the bond of family they created remained strong. Later, she married Jim Hargrafen, and while that marriage also came to a close, she carried with her many fond memories of their time together.
In her later years, Pamela relocated to Mesa, Arizona, where she embraced her golden years with grace and humor. She especially enjoyed playing cards, regularly hosting games and finding friendship and laughter at the local community center.
Pamela is survived by her daughters, Tammy Klinger (Ron), Holly Bolt, and Crystal Dohanyos (Rob); her sister, Juli Kvale; her brother, Craig Quisling; and her beloved grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and pride.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Cheryl Quisling, and her former husbands, Jim Hook (December 2023) and Jim Hargrafen (November 2023).
A private service will be held at a later date in Northern Iowa to honor Pamela’s life and legacy. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
