Pete,
To whom I always referred to as grandpa. I remember you as such a kind, loving, accepting
man. You always made me feel so welcomed, so loved. You always smiled, laughed, told jokes. I never had a male role model in my life, but if it is ok, I considered you a role model for me. I am so lucky to have met you, your wife and your incredible family. I will always remember you and your example! Thank you for accepting me as part of your family!!! I love you!

Greatpapa-  We are so glad that we had a chance to spend so much time with you.  You are so special to us!  We love and miss you!!!  Jaxon & Parker

Grandpa- You will be greatly missed by all of us.  You have had such an impact on all of our lives.  Your kindness, strength, lessons, jokes and most of all your love has been and always be felt in my life and those of all who knew you.  You have been a great example to me and I hope that I can continue that example on in my marriage and my own family.  I am especially glad that you brought the gosple to this family and that because of that we will all be together again one day.  I will hold so many great memories of you in my heart and always smile when I think of you and know that you are always watching over us.  I know that you are at peace and feel so free...probably already setting up your next fishing trip!  And don't worry...we are taking good care of grandma.  I love you and miss you!

Grandpa- Thanks for being so great to all of us children, grandchildren, and great grand children. I wish you could be around for the great, great, grandchildren. You have influenced my life more than words can describe and I will miss you tremendously. Wherever you are, they are lucky to have you and I hope it is with a fishing pole in hand.

As good a man you will ever meet. Grandpa to my wife and great grandpa to my boys. I always enjoyed the conversations we had.  A great source of wisdom and knowledge.  You will most certainly be missed. We love you dearly,

You will be sorely missed. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of our fishing adventures. You were a great man and I learned allot from you. You worked hard and always did right by your family and that is something to truly admire. I love you grandpa!

Daddy,

I feel very blessed to have had you for a father.  Your kindness and generosity have been and are an inspiration to me.  You spent your life performing quiet acts of kindness and service to others. 

After personal struggle, you embraced the gospel and for the rest of your life you remained faithful and never wavered.  Your many acts of faithful service have blessed the lives of many.

Growing up, although our circumstances were humble, because of your and mother's hard work and sacrifices, I never knew want.  My childhood was one of security, love, happiness and good times spent together.  I cherish those memories.  

Your devotion to family was a hallmark of your life and you spent untold hours with us girls, teaching us, inspiring in us a love of nature, and setting an example for us.  

In my eyes you are the very best daddy in the world.  I will miss you terribly but will treasure my memories of you and look forward to the day when we will be together as a family again.  I love you!

Grandpa, I couldn't have asked for a greater role model.  You taught me the value of family, devotion, hard work, and much more.  You were loved by all, and you will be greatly missed.

Dad, you were the best and most loving Daddy a girl could have.  You taught me to be true to myself and that I could do anything in my life I wanted to do.  You helped me raise my 5 kids; I couldn't have done it without you.  My kids had one great, loving Grandpa whom they will always remember.  Goodbye, dearest Daddy, until we meet again.

I love you Grandpa. You are the most important male role model in my life. I know what it is to be a good man because you were my grandfather, and I will spend the rest of my life life struggling to live up to your example. I know you would love to meet your new Great Granddaughter, and get to know Heather better as well. 

I will miss you every day. 

Even when you were not nearby, your loving presence was always felt in my life.. and it always will be.

Pete, we were not blood relation, but you were like a grandfather to me in my years living with Rick and Lindy. I have alot of fond memories of fishing, camping and many others. you were an inspiration to me as a man, I looked up to you alot and also learned alot from you. I know you have left behind a wonderful wife whom I also have much love and respect for. you will be missed by many including myself sir.

I remember one of the first things you said about me after I started dating your oldest daughter , Lindy ...." I wish that guy would drop dead...all he thinks about is business and money "
You didn't like my long hair either.
So I got even with you , and became your friend ,had you baptise me ,and ordain me , and then married your daughter !
Well I surely do respect you and any man who worked as hard and honest as you did all your life ! I have always been impressed how you made big change in your life , by moving from your home , going back to school in your mid 40's and getting your GED , and then on to college to get a degree in nursing after 25+ years working as a welder and machinest....then on to more college to become a teacher ....WOW.....All the fish and game you took from this earth won't miss you , but we all will!

Pete-It is an honor to be part of your family and legacy.  Thank you for being a righteous leader and bringing your family into the gospel - allowing me to have those same blessings.  I'm glad to have known you and to have been a part of your life.

Pete treated me more as a son than a son-in-law.  He trusted me with his daughter and grandchildren and great gradchildren.  He also confided in me, in his later years about his desires for his family.  He always said that most important was to be together.  Many years we would only see them once a year.  We always made the best of it.  Pete went out of his way to flood us with love.  And even now he wants us to be happy and be together, not only physically but especially in spirit.  He told me many times, don't forget to pray.  "It's free," he said.  He also told my children, when they would climb on him "don't be so mean to your old grandpa.  Some day I'll be gone and you'll regret it."  The kids all said, "grandpa, you'll never die."  He said, "yes I will.  But I want you all to be with us forever."  That was always the spiritual message that he gave to us.

One of the compliments he gave to me that I will never forget, is that he would say to me after driving across the United States, "you must be saying your prayers because that and gasoline is the only two things my cars were going on."  And also he said, "I was the only person he knew that could pack five quarts in a gallon jug."  Relating to how I packed the old station wagon, suburban, van or trailer.

We can all be thankful to the lake.  He told me one soup nite, it is up to the grandkids to carryon with traditions.  He always wanted to talk about the good times, getting stuck in the sand, sunburns, sand in the food, the dust storms, and working with his children and grandchildren.

The last great experience I had with him was buying his fishing equipment.  He spent hours talking with a very nice salesman that talked with him on his level and did not try to sell him anything he did not want.  He was bright and alert and just wanted one more trip.  I tried to make that happen but it was not to be.  He is now a fisher of men.  My last visit with him he asked me to state to everyone, He knew the church was true and his life has been so full because of his family.  All he did in the church was to bring his family home with our Heavenly Father.

I am so blessed to have him and I know he is enjoying meeting his family and friends again.

Whenever we knew we would be apart from each other for a great length of time you would always ask me, "Whose grandson are you?" and I would always answer "I am yours," to which he would reply "That's right, never forget that."  And l I never will forget it grandpa. You were a great man who had life long lasting effects on both who I am as a person and how I choose to live my life.  I could not have asked for better mentor, a better teacher, a better role model, or a better grandparent.
Although I received Emmett's name as my middle name (a fact I would not change) I often wish I could have yours too.  I will always be your grandson.  I love you.

Peter's life made such an impact on his family. The few times I was able to spend time with him, it was clear to me that his grandchildren were impacted by his integrity and work ethic. He will be missed.

Thank you for all your love.  I am grateful for all the memories you have given me.  I love you and will miss you.

Grandpa - I will always love you and keep you in my heart. You were such a great inspiration to all who had the priveledge to be a part of your life. There are so many stories that I will carry in my heart and remember you forever. We were so lucky we so much  time with you. I love you!

Since the day that I was born you were there for me.  You had many hard times but my sisters and I never went without.  I know that the life that you lived before you met mom was a hard one and after you and mom got married and had us girls it was still hard, but you always took care of us.  You were the best dad a girl could have had. You lived in a house full of females, but never seemed to mind. Your grandchildren adored you.  You taught them so much that they can teach their children.  I love you with a love that is eternal and I know that when the time comes that I will see you again.  I know that you are where you are happy and are with the ones that you love.  Take care of my Kylyn for me until I can get there. Paula

Grandpa - you have always been such a huge part of my life - although I didn't always show it well enough.  You were one of the best men I have ever known - always kind, generous, loyal, willing to share whatever you had with others, and mostly when it applies to me - patient.  You have always held a special place in my heart that aches now that you are gone, but it still remains. I will miss you terribly and always wish that we had had more time together.  You were a wonderful father, elder, patriarch, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, son, and of all these husband.
