

Rebecca Elena Rosales Johnson, born in Phoenix, Arizona on March 11, 1960, passed away on April 14, 2015 in Mesa, Arizona at the age of 55. She loved fishing, music, and animals, including a kitten she rescued after he was found under the hood of a car at work. Rebecca was an accomplished opera singer, a coloratura soprano. She will be remembered for her superb wit and ability to make people laugh.
After growing up in Tempe, Arizona, Rebecca moved to New York City in 1984 to study classical voice at the Juilliard School for Performing Arts. After her studies she sang with New York City Opera for six years and performed in numerous other venues. She returned to Arizona in 1998 and worked in sales and marketing of technology systems, first at Insight, and then at Scansource / Catalyst Telecom. But most importantly, Rebecca was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
Rebecca is survived by her mother, Karla Caldwell, her father, Raymundo Rosales, her stepmother Rafaela Garcia, her husband of twelve years, Brent Johnson, her sister, Rachel Rosales, her brothers Robert Rosales and Mundo Rosales, sister-in-law Dareece Rosales, nephews Tyler Rosales and Colton Rosales, and niece Alexis Rosales, and lots of extended family.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ 85206. Arrangements entrusted to Mariposa Gardens (480) 830-4422.
