

Rittenbacher, Richard R. born December 13, 1935 in Chicago, IL to John and Marie [Konrath] Rittenbacher, passed away February 10, 2013 at his home in Mesa, AZ. Richard was a regular fixture at neighborhood and community events and was beloved by friends and neighbors wherever he lived. He proudly served his country with the US Army during the Korean Conflict and volunteered as a Cub Scout Master and little league baseball coach for many years. He was employed for 37 years as a sheet metal fabricator at GE Mathis Company in Chicago, Illinois; retiring as shop foreman. Above everything else, Richard was known for his boundless devotion to his family, friends, and his eagerness to help those he loved with home improvement projects or in any other way he could. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Carol; sons Richard (Nancy) Rittenbacher and Robert (Paula) Rittenbacher; daughters Christine (John) Ginty and Cheryl Koppes; sisters Mary Ann (George) Behling and Theresa (Harry) Earheart as well a nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother John Rittenbacher. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 14th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa, AZ. A Funeral service, also at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, is scheduled for 11 am on Friday, February 15th.
