I  miss my soul mate Dick terribly.   It is hard to believe it has been four years since  he passed.  Dick, I just want you to know that I think of you with all the love in my heart every single day and miss all those moments of sharing.  Life seems to move on - but it will never be the same....I am so very happy for all the wonderful memories.

Dearest Dick -  Anniversary of your leaving me 2 years ago today brings a lot of tears!  Memorial Candle burning next to my favorite picture of you in Hawaiian shirt and black beads on porch of Hale #7 at Kona Village.  Those memories of Hawaii always make me smile.  I know how lucky we were to have all those wonderful times during 40 years together.  From the VW Bus camping trips to the 9 years in the 90's at Malibu Beach.  I miss Malibu most of all but not nearly as much as I miss you.  Isolating now due to Covid 19 and still working remotely.  Vaccine coming soon and due to my advanced age (80 in January) - I hope to be near top of list to get vaccinated.   During these last 9 months of isolation I had chance to finally unpack all those photo albums.  Having those memories helps when I feel desperately sad and lonely.  My new Canyon Preserve house is decorated for Christmas with beautiful new tree and new electric fireplace.  I even brought out Surfing Santa!  Dickins Village once again displayed and better than ever I must say.
I visited you today at Mariposa Gardens but I know the only place you really are is within my heart forever..... I love you always, Judie


Dear Dick:   
Today would have been your 86th birthday!  I am spending the day (and most of the summer) at our favorite summer escape in Sedona!  And today marked the first rain of the monsoon which makes me very happy.    Although I have just sold our summer retreat, I will be taking with me many many happy memories which we made together during our years here in Sedona.   It is sad not to have you here to share these final Sedona days with me - but I feel you near me.

Dearest Dick,
Today is my birthday and although you are not here this year to celebrate with me, I have invited about a dozen girlfriends (you know them all) to come and celebrate with me - appetizers, wine and cupcakes!  I am hoping to make a fun memory to go with all the other memories I have of birthdays past....I remember so well that snowy birthday in Greer, exactly 10 years ago, where I got a bucket-list snowy sleigh ride with the driver regaling us with cowboy poetry!  It was January 2009 and, after sleigh ride and hot chocolate, we watched Obama inauguration from our room at Amberian Peaks Lodge in Greer...How lucky we were to be able to watch that ceremony.  I know you are resting in peace... I visited you today and laid a stone so you would know I had been there and am thinking of you with love always,  Forever, Judie

 


When we think of special people in our lives,  Dick and Judie come to mind.  Very caring and fun loving.  They shared a special deep love for one another that is priceless. So many people never experience that in life.  So in our hearts we will always remember Dick as a loving, fun person, who was someone that  when he smiled the  room just lit up.  Jim and I will miss you, but always remember how blessed we are to have known you. May you be resting in the arms of our good Lord.   

Dear Judie,
 Dick may be resting in peace, but the memories will always be cherished . When Holly and I moved into our Northridge home, Dick immediately came across the street and invited us over for the first of many delicious and entertaining meals! The parties and BBQs we shared together over the years were always so much fun.
Not many people, if anybody knew the fact that Dick and I had a secret competition about who could decorate their house the most for Christmas every year! Then we got to visit the Major of the Malibu RV park for ocean views with more BBQs and fun.  I could go on and on, but just know our thoughts, memories and fun times we had with Dick and you were special.

Dear Judie -  Linda and are I very sad to learn about Dick’s passing and so happy that we all met on our honeymoon in the Caribbean - almost thirty years ago.  I’ve saved the picture you posted in this memorial and Linda and I chatted last night about our last visit together in Arizona years ago.   Linda and I shared our memories together and our sadness shifted as we laughed at some of the great moments - two of my favorites are with me all the time - the time at the RV park in Malibu where I tried to convince Dick he was really Eli Wallach - and the time during our honeymoon when Dick bought those black trunks, went into the water,  and the dye bled from the trunks to his skin.  We hope everyone’s sadness passes with time and shifts to strong, wonderful memories that warm us all during cold times, keep us cool during hot times, and keep Dick in our memories and hearts forever.

My heart sank when I read your Xmas card, and to read that Dick had passed away.  We always enjoyed our dinners together, or just having the chance to chat when we would bump into you both. Dick was such a trooper, we admired that he made the effort, even when his health was failing. We thoroughly enjoyed the stories he had to share.  Your love for each other was always so evident, we can only imagine your sorrow and pain with losing him. We pray that all those special memories that you have of Dick will always remain close, and in time will help in bringing you peace and comfort.

I am so very sorry to hear that Dick passed away.  Richie and I shared many happy times with you and Dick in Palm Desert, California.  The laughs, the meals, the friends.  We remember fondly all of the special times we had together.   Sadly, as you know, Richie passed away just four years ago this month so I know how hard your loss is.  May your memories help you to find comfort in getting through this very sad time.

I'm so sorry to here about Dicks passing.  We became friends as you traveled through LAX for your work. I always enjoyed your stories about Dick and your dogs, Mako and Pepper.  You are in our thoughts and prayers, With love.

Judie....I keep remembering that evening we went to dinner at a Las Vegas hotel with you.  Dick stood up and sang the Hawaiian Wedding Song.....it was just beautiful!  We are so sorry for your loss.
