Bob was a kind and loving man. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. I affectionately referred to him as my "Papoo". He and Lillian were wonderful friends to my parents and he was like a grandfather to me. I have fond memories of spending time with him and Lillian as a little girl, especially swimming in the pool. I feel truly blessed for the time we had together. I know he is in a better place now. God bless you Lillian and family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hey Lillian and family. My heart breaks for you. Bob was my first store manager when I came back to work for Fry's (the 2nd time), in 1993. The first week back, I didn't know that there would be a drawing at the manager's meeting for an associate to win a trip for 4 to Disneyland. Bob asked me if I wanted to buy his last ticket for $1 and I just happened to have $1 in my pocket. I bought it and I won the trip!! I remember him as a kind man. He was always coaching, He seemed to want us "younger" (ha! ha! now we're in our 50's & 60's) people to be the best we could be. I learned that you can be firm and yet fair and compassionate as a manager. I will always have fond memories of Bob. Love,

Even after so many years, just the mention of his name brings the vivid image of his always smiling face, and such joy moves through me. I remember my Papoo. His smile is infectious...you can't help but be drawn in. I was very little during the times we spent together, going to the Easter service with the family, or just spending quality time. My memory of him is simply open arms...Happiness. Maya Angelou said, "At the end of the day people won't remember what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel." Though I was but little, I will never forget how you made me feel Papoo. Thank you for offering this world the gift of your smile (I still feel my cheeks move at the thought of it), and for loving, in the way only you could. We love you. Peace and blessings. <3

Bob was admired and respected by everyone who knew him.  He was kind and generous, full of wisdom and integrity.  He was my mentor and my friend.  He and Lillian always made us feel a part of the family. Bob always gave me the best advise. I have so many wonderful memories I will cherish forever.  It makes me smile just remembering all the great times like him dancing with me at my wedding. (although he did mention that he should be dancing with Lillian cause it was their dance song ..)  That is another thing I admired.  The love he had for his wife and family.  They always came first. Bob I will never forget you, your smile and all you were to so many.    Lillian I pray your family will find peace in knowing Bob is with our Lord and Savior.  God Bless.

We are so sorry to hear about Bob.  He was the store manager when I started working at Fry's.  We all had a lot of fun through the years.  Bob was someone you could always count on and you knew if you ever needed anything he would be there for you!  I sure enjoyed the pictures!  Love to all!

Dear Lillian and Family,
My prayers and condolences go out to all of you, during this deeply sad time.
I too was a transplant from King Soopers to Fry's Food Stores, just like Bob was.
I was part of a large team that helped set up the General Merchandise department, of Bob's brand new Scottsdale store at 77th Street & McDowell, in 1981. I continued to work exclusively in GM at that store, while attending Arizona State University. Bob was an awesome store manager, teacher and friend. It was an honor and a privilege to work for him. Lillian and I worked together at many valley Fry's stores and those times that I was invited over to their Tempe home after work, was very special to me. We talked about the grocery business and shared stories about Colorado, our family and friends. And the Broncos! Just now looking at Bob's picture made me smile, for he was truly a gifted people person and cared deeply for his family, friends and employees. Bob was one of the good guys, always supportive and encouraging, to do your best. He will most definitely be missed.
