

79, passed away on September 19, 2014. He was born in Richmond Hill, NY on September 28, 1934 to parents, Joseph P. Loftus and Ruth J. Loftus (Schmidt). During his life, Bob resided in NY, CT, PA and NC prior to moving to Arizona in 2000, eventually settling in San Tan Valley, AZ in 2005. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Loftus, and by his wife, Patricia (Dolan), of 47 years, who passed away in 2005. He is survived by his daughter, Maura Carter (Jerry), son, Robert Loftus Jr. (Elizabeth) and grandson Hayden Loftus. Bob was a wise and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. As a young man, Bob served honorably in the U.S. Army. Throughout his life, Bob was an outstanding athlete, playing many sports, lettering in baseball and football while attending college. Bob graduated from Farmingdale College (SUNY) Farmingdale NY, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Bob had a successful career as an engineer in technical sales where he worked for Bailey Meter Co., Fischer & Porter Co. and retired as the president of Simmonds Precision Products for Industrial Controls in 1986. Bob and wife, Pat, moved to Ocean Isle Beach NC, owning and operating Nino’s Italian Restaurant in Little River, NC for 11 years before moving to Arizona in 2000. Since retiring, Bob played golf three days a week and was proud of hitting a hole in one and shooting his age in 2012. Bob loved sharing his diverse culinary talents with family and friends including one of his personal favorites, cooking Carolina blue crabs on Sundays. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, Sept 26 at Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 2654 E. Williams Field Rd, Gilbert, AZ.
