Bob grew up with a strong work ethic that started during his early years helping on the family farm in Cushing, WI. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and later attended the University of Wisconsin–River Falls before beginning a long career with 3M.
At the time of his passing, Bob and Sue were in their 50th year of marriage, a partnership filled with memories of their own farm and garden, travel and exploration, laughter and dancing, and the many everyday moments that make a life together.
Family was the center of Bob’s life. As a grandfather, Bob could often be found on the sidelines of sporting events or in the audience at concerts, graduations, ceremonies, and countless other moments that mattered. He loved following the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and rarely missed a chance to proudly share their accomplishments. Bob also had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures—golfing, baking bread, watching the birds, and enjoying time outdoors, especially during his winters in Arizona.
He will be remembered as one of the funniest men in every room, always ready with a joke or a story, and someone who brought laughter to the people around him.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sue; his sons James (Laura), Scott (Harmony), Barrie Scott (Chaul), and Benjamin (Kari); along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bob will be laid to rest with military honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
