Born Roy Gemette McGuire June 25, 1945, in Trinity TX to Billie Ruth (Hill) and Roy Lee McGuire. Roy graduated from Sunset High School, Dallas in 1963 and Stephen F. Austin University, Nacogdoches, TX in 1969. Within a week of graduating college, he was drafted into the Army and spent 2 years at Ft Bliss in El Paso, TX.
He married (Virginia) Ann Brown in June of 1970 and they had 2 children, Clinton and Cyndee.
He worked in the IT field for about 35 years with his last job being with the City of Mesa and retired in 2007 after 10 years.
Roy is survived by his wife of 53 years, as well as his son Clinton, daughter Cyndee and son-in-law Wade.
He is predeceased by his parents and stepfather Dick Franklin and brother Darryl.
No services are planned per the families wishes.
