Sandra Joy Thomason

Sandra Thomason, 60, of Mesa Arizona passed away August 10, 2020. For the last year, Sandy had been residing at Mi Casa Care Center. Family and friends were prevented from visiting Sandy since March 11, 2020; due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We were fortunate to visit with Sandy in the last 24 hours of her life to let her know that she was loved, and to say our goodbyes, and wish her a peaceful journey as God called her home. She was born to Brint and Ann Thomason in Fort Worth, Texas on October 26th, 1959. She moved with her family to Tempe Arizona in October 1963.

Sandra, known as Kitten to her friends; graduated from Tempe High School in 1977. She attended Mesa Community college where she earned an Associate’s degree in American Sign Language for the Deaf. Sandy loved cats, and considered them her kids. She loved playing Bingo, and online Facebook games. Sandy's passion was being a NASCAR fan. She was a loyal Kyle Busch fan.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; Brint Thomason, Ann Thomason, her Uncle Bill Welch and his wife Scottie Welch, her Aunt Louise Weigman, her brother Steve Thomason, She is survived by her life-time partner Edward Weil of Mesa Arizona, her four sisters; Beth & Dennis Saltzman, LouAnn Thomason, Jani & Kevin Jones, and Joni & John Wisenbaker.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mariposa Gardens of Mesa Arizona. Memorial Service will be held at Mariposa Gardens on August 22nd, 2020 at 1:00 pm; with a short reception to follow at Mariposa Gardens.
