

Sergio Cervi-Skinner passed away the evening of March 18, 2011, at the age of 69 with his family by his side. Born in Chile, he moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he met his soul mate Viviana Silberstein. They married in 1965 and moved to the United States, where Sergio served as a Navy physician 1965-69. He moved his family to Roseburg, Oregon, to work at the VA Medical Center and eventually open a private practice in Endocrinology. Here they lived for 17 years and met many wonderful lifelong friends. After 14 years of private practice, Sergio and his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. He, along with his son Steven, joined Michael Gregory to start one of the most successful hospitalist practices worldwide – Apogee Physicians. Sergio was a man who had a passion for life - he loved sailing, was an accomplished physician, an inspiration to his children/grandchildren, and a most devoted and loving husband. He is survived by his wife of 46 years; children Steven, Claudine and Moira; their spouses and 11 grandchildren. Services will be held starting at 5:30pm on Wednesday March 23, 2011,at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel: 6747 E.
