

Michael Steven Bowen, lovingly known as Steve Bowen, passed away peacefully at his home in Mesa, Arizona, on December 12, 2025. He was a devoted husband of 46 years, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose strong work ethic, generosity, and steady presence left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Steve was born on November 25, 1950, at St. Ann Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. In July of 1969, he joined the United States Navy and served a short time before being honorably discharged.
Throughout his life, Steve lived in Columbus, Ohio; North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and Mesa, Arizona, forming lifelong friendships and meaningful connections everywhere he went.
Steve shared a loving marriage of 46 years with his wife, Rhonda Joyce Bowen. Their relationship was built on loyalty, companionship, and deep devotion to family. He especially enjoyed spending time with Rhonda, whether riding his motorcycle, bowling, going to the beach, country line dancing, or relaxing together with a Pepsi and a bag of chips.
He was the proud father of three sons: Warren “Shane” Bowen, Jason Everett Bowen, and Stevie Edwin Bowen. He was also a devoted stepfather to Tammy Lasko and Joey Lasko. Steve cherished his role as a grandfather and great-grandfather and leaves behind a combined total of 34 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Known for his tireless work ethic, Steve had a passion for staying busy and working non-stop. He could fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His determination, resourcefulness, and kindness were hallmarks of his character.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Rhonda Joyce Bowen; his sons Warren “Shane” Bowen, Jason Everett Bowen, and Stevie Edwin Bowen; his stepdaughter Tammy Lasko and stepson Joey Lasko; his 34 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister Patricia Franco and her husband Robert Franco; his half-sister Connie Porterfield; his half-brother Mark Bowen; his step-sister Vicki Arnold; his step-brother Markie Pass; his sister-in-law Diana Voss; his brothers-in-law Roger Voss and William Call; and many extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Leah Romona Bowen (Lewis); his father, Michael Jacob Bowen; and his sister, Sandra Call.
Michael Steven Bowen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for the life he lived, the family he cherished, and the love he shared so freely.
