Those words, the goal of his life, have been joyously proclaimed throughout all of Heaven upon the arrival of Steven Thomas Fink on Monday April 30th, 2013.
Steve was born in Minneapolis Minnesota on November 19th, 1950. His early years were spent on a farm where even at an early age he exhibited a love for nature and spent many hours in the woods and down by the lake. Given a choice Steve would have preferred to remain on the farm. The family moved to Phoenix Arizona in 1958, and Steve remained there for the remainder of his life. In his late teen years he met his future wife, Sheila, and they were married for 40 years. Steve and Sheila raised their two children, Adam the eldest, and Rachel, and then also spent many years raising their grandson Jake and also cared for the son of friends, Travis. Other grandchildren are Casey and Phoebe. The family that remain here are his mother Jean, two brothers, Dan and Joe, and other brothers and sisters in Christ too numerous to count.
Steve's life was grounded on a foundation of hard work, ethical behavior, and a love for his Savior Jesus Christ. Various jobs were at Sperry, Space Data, Prototech Research, Tokyo Electron, and Inter-Coastal Electronics. At every stop Steve made lifelong connections who are all grieving the loss of a true friend, and not just a coworker.
Throughout his adult life Steve lived a life of Christian service and in his last years his passion was the operation of a website called NuggetNet Review which was based the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy in todays’ news. The intention of the website was to anonymously use the internet to reach as many unsaved as possible and proclaim the saving love of Jesus Christ. Steve spent many, many hours researching countless websites several times a day and provided links to articles that showed Gods’ hand at work in these end times. When asked why he put so much time into the website, his answer was that he was doing work for Gods’ kingdom and that work deserved his best effort. Steve’s devotion to his Lord and God is best shown in that single statement.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Chapel Tri-City on Saturday May 11th, 2013 at 1pm. The address is 2334 E. Southern Avenue in Tempe, AZ., 85282. You are encouraged to come and meet many of the other people whose lives were touched and impacted during Steve’s earthly life. Refreshments will be provided after the service. In lieu of flowers or other remembrances, it is requested that you make a donation in Steve’s memory to a Christian ministry of your choice.
