Terry was born on August 26, 1949, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He spent his childhood in various towns where his father owned cheese plants, providing plenty of space to explore and be surrounded by animals—memories he cherished. In 1966, his family moved to Ravenna, Nebraska, to start a new cheese plant, where Terry played an active role in helping his father build the business.
He graduated from Central Nebraska Technical College in Hastings, Nebraska, and went on to serve in the United States Army for nearly two years.
On December 26, 1970, Terry married the love of his life, Peggy Masker, at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island, Nebraska.
Terry’s entrepreneurial spirit led him in many directions. In 1977, he completed barber school and opened his own shop in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Later, in 1983, he expanded his business ventures by opening Arby’s and Super 8 franchises off Interstate 80 in York, Nebraska. Under his leadership, these businesses flourished and became respected establishments in the local community.
Beyond work, Terry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had a deep love for golf, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. He was a faithful member of All Saints Catholic Church.
Terry is survived by his wife, Peggy; daughter, Tara (D'Arcy) Frye; and grandchildren, D’Shaun, Isaiah, and Jayden. He is also survived by his siblings: Sue (Bill) Dworak, Judy (Terry) McInroy, Deb (Mark) Huber, Mike (Rhonda) Wadzinski, and Lori (Tom) Polich.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Violet and Leroy; two infant sons, Steven and Jeffrey; and his grandson, Gavin.
Terry’s presence, warmth, and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
