October 25, 1946 – March 6, 2025
Thomas M. Fowler lived a life defined by service, devotion, and quiet strength. Born on October 25, 1946, he came into the world with the kind of determination that would carry him through close to 8 decades of life, love, and legacy.
As a young man, Tom served his country with honor in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, a chapter that shaped his steadfast character and deepened his sense of duty. But perhaps one of the most fateful moments came not on the battlefield, but poolside—when he met a young woman named Mary while working at a local swimming pool. With charm and persistence, Tom won her heart—despite the fact that she was already engaged. That spark ignited a love story that lasted 56 beautiful years.
Tom and Mary built a life together in El Paso, where Tom worked for Greyhound Bus Lines and later transitioned into food service. His hard work and easygoing nature made him a beloved fixture in every job he held. In December of 1991, Tom and Mary made a bold move to Phoenix, Arizona, where he helped open a new BBQ restaurant in Scottsdale—a perfect fit for his warm hospitality and love for good food. He continued working in the food industry until he retired, never one to shy away from a good day’s work.
Family meant everything to Tom. He was a proud father of two sons, Bryan and Keith, and a loving grandfather to five grandchildren, Anastasia, Joshua, Kaylee, Jakob, and Kassidy, each of whom he adored. Whether it was sharing hilarious stories from his Navy days or flipping burgers at a family cookout, Tom had a way of making everyone feel valued and at home.
He lived simply but fully—rooted in love, loyalty, and a contagious laugh that could make anyone smile. Tom passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of quiet integrity and unwavering love.
His story is one of hard work, enduring love, and deep devotion to his family and country—a life well-lived and deeply cherished.
We remember and celebrate his life with the promise found in Isaiah 46:4 (ESV):
“Even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.”
