Thomas “Tom” Robert Driscoll passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Gilbert, Arizona on April 6, 2013. Born in Sandusky, Ohio to Thomas and Gertrude (nee Fladry) Driscoll, Tom arrived on November 25, 1945. Proud of his country, Tom served in the United States Navy. Traveling across the country, Tom was a proud trucker for 44 years. For the last 6 years, he has been an owner operator for Bruce Oakley Trucking out of Little Rock, Arkansas. Love at first sight happened for Tom when he visited a café in Artesia, California and met Dorothy Seehuber. He continued visiting the café just to see Dorothy. Finally she agreed to go out with him, and they have been best friends, soul mates, and in true love ever since. The couple was married on September 19, 1966 in Las Vegas, Nevada and they have spent 47 years adoring each other. There was not a day that went by that Tom didn’t show affection to Dorothy. They had a marriage that others dreamed of. Their family became complete with their 3 daughters. A better father could not be found. Always being there for his family was of the utmost importance to Tom. His family came first, he was completely dedicated to them. Every conversation ended with an “I sure love you” sometimes it was followed with “you little brat!”, his family knew how much they were loved. A true cowboy at heart, Tom was a good man to his core. He was the kind of man that enough good things just could not be said. Tom was so loved by those he leaves behind, his adoring wife Dorothy, daughters Charise (Doug) Arfa, Rene (Pat) Rowan, Dawn (Jeff) Moore, grandchildren Dorothy M. Driscoll, Phillip Driscoll, Tylar Driscoll-Voss, Nate Rowan, and Krista Rowan, great grandchildren Jordan Brown, Aylea Brown, and Jamie Brown, sisters Evelyn Thompson, Cathy Driscoll, and Debbie Oberlitner, brother Ken Driscoll, and many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Gertrude Driscoll. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Sun Valley Community Church 456 E Ray Rd Gilbert, AZ 85296. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Tom’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project, http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/. Arrangements are entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park & Funeral Care 400 South Power Road Mesa, Arizona 85206 (480)830-4422.
