

Tony Daniel Torres of Mesa, AZ passed away February 21, 2020 at the age of 69. He was born September 4, 1950 in El Paso, TX to Antonio Duran and Consuelo (Delgado) Torres. Tony graduated from Coronado High School in 1968 and from The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) with a Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration.
Tony worked for El Paso Natural Gas for many years, and Sunland Park Racetrack where he enjoyed betting on the horses. He also managed a Circle K, owned and operated his own office cleaning franchise called “Jani-Torres” and worked for Hennepin County in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was an avid golfer, loved watching football and hockey, and enjoyed spending time on his patio, visiting with all his neighbors.
He loved to travel, and especially enjoyed his visits to San Antonio and El Paso. During those visits he spent precious time with family and friends, and always made sure to attend the monthly luncheon with his high school buddies at the Riviera, the restaurant his parents once owned. Tony loved to laugh, and never met a stranger.
In 1968 he met his future wife, Baila Feldman, on a blind date arranged by his father and her uncle, Ben Stein. Nineteen years later they reconnected and eloped to Las Vegas. They were married on August 27, 1987, at the Little Chapel of the West.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Baila Torres; his son Trent Torres (Tracy); daughter, Tamara Torres, grandchildren, Nahva Finn and Hailey and Trevor Torres. His sister, Velia Minjarez (Henry) and his brother Richard Torres (Dianna) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, uncles and cousins also survived him. His parents, Antonio and Consuelo and his brother Michael Torres preceded Tony in death.
A Celebration, of Life will be held in El Paso at a future date In lieu of flowers, any donations will be redirected to hospice.
