Yun Sook was a woman of deep faith, strength, and devotion. Widowed at a young age, she dedicated her life to serving the church and raising her family as a single parent. Her faith guided her daily life, and she found great joy in singing in the church choir and caring for others. One of her greatest expressions of love was through cooking; she delighted in preparing meals and making sure everyone around her was fed and cared for.
She worked for Motorola for many years, where she was known for her strong work ethic and commitment. It was there that she affectionately became known as “Sookie,” a name that stayed with her and reflected the warmth she brought to those around her. She eventually retired after a dedicated career.
Yun Sook is now laid to rest, reunited in heaven with her beloved mother, husband, and two daughters.
She is survived by her youngest daughter, Jill Mertz; son-in-law, Justin Mertz; and her cherished grandchildren: Daniel, Brodie, Thomas, Maysen, Myles, and Manning, who were a constant source of pride and joy in her life.
Yun Sook Kang will be remembered for her quiet strength, unwavering faith, generous heart, and the countless lives she touched through her love and service. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved her.
