

Bernice Louise Loden was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 12, 1924 to parents Thomas Edgar List and Bertha Karg. She passed on December 26, 2016 in Mesquite, Texas. Living in Detroit with her parents, Bernice attended school from early in her life through the ninth grade. It was then she went to work at a factory and then enlisted in the United States Army. After being Honorably Discharged from the Army, Bernice met and married Jack Davis. They were happily married until Jack passed away at age 47. She and Jack had built a wonderful family together and so Bernice stayed home to care for her children. A devout Baptist her whole life, Bernice attended the local church in the area she lived in. Her hobbies included crafting, going out to eat with her family, watching church programs on the television, watching silent movies, and visiting friends. She was also an avid lover of animals and enjoyed spending time with her dog and her parrot. Bernice’s family describes her as an excellent person, a very happy and outgoing woman and a wonderful mother. Bernice is preceded in death by her parents Thomas Edgar List and Bertha Karg; spouse Jack Davis; her sons Norman Davis and Gary Davis; and her granddaughter Karen Davis. She is survived by her daughters Darlene Davis and Jenny Davis; sons Terry Loden, Allen Davis, C.J. Davis, and Jack Davis; nieces Pam, Melissa and Courtney; and numerous friends. A visitation will take place on the evening of Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home located at 1111 Military Parkway, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A Funeral Service will take place the morning of Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home Chapel with a burial to follow at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park.
