Billy Bob was born in Sherman, TX on April 23rd, 1950, to Lewis Elton Gilbert (John) and Wilma Leta Hinton. He graduated from Sherman High School. Billy Bob was married to Billie Jean on November 25th, 1995; they were married 30yrs.
Billy Bob worked as a material handler for 34 years at J&J and Cooper B Line; retired from Tyson Foods. He loved his jobs and the people he worked with. He enjoyed collecting/selling his coins and going to trades days. He looked forward to his monthly coin meetings. He also loved sports, especially football. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents, John and Wilma.
Billy is survived by his spouse: Billie Jean Gilbert, sister: Johna Smith (spouse: Larry), children: Billy Bob Gilbert Jr (spouse: Ronda), Pamela Wehrmann (spouse: Darrell), step children: Jarvis Caradine and Jennifer Granquist (spouse: Colt), niece: Christy Salamon (spouse: Scott), 5 grandchildren and other family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on May 3rd, 2026 at 2:00pm – 3:00pm at North Park Baptist Church. 2605 Rex Cruse Dr, Sherman, TX 75092.
