Darril Eugene Hall, age 61, was born on December 24, 1956 in Santa Monica, California to parents Charles and Betty Hall. Darril passed on September 11, 2018 in Mesquite, Texas at his home. He grew up in Orange County, CA and graduated from Garden Grove High School in 1975.
Darril was involved in the United States Army between 1975-1978. He received the Medal of Good Conduct and was a marksman trained to use .45 Cal pistol and an M-16 rifle.
After his service Darril attended Police Academy at the Goldenwest College. He worked at the Water Department for the City of Richardson for 17 years.
In his spare time he enjoyed working on his house and also his Ford Bronco. He loved to go deer hunting, collecting stamps, Hot Wheels cars, going to gun shows, researching genealogy, exploring East Texas, and treasuring the moments with his little doggies. His friends and family will always remember him for his friendship and loyalty, his enormous heart, and how he was always there to lend a hand or help with whatever was needed even if that meant he had to go without. He loved and spoiled his three fur children (dogs) Dixie, Chance, and Candy, all of which were rescues.
He is survived by his siblings: Dennis Hall, Kathy Beckman, Karen Sudyka, and Kelly Bowman; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Darril touched many lives in his lifetime. Many of those lives are changed forever. He didn't talk much and was pretty shy but once you met him it became obvious very quickly how much of a caring man he was. He had a "big" heart. Most of the little dogs he had were rescued. He believed that the little ones in the pound or unwanted by their owners deserved another chance of a loving and caring home. His rescued dogs, Chance, Candy and Dixie, adored him and they do say a dog is the best judge of character! His kindness did not stop with animals though, he was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to any family member or friend in need. He had many friends who came to visit him during his long battle with cancer. His kindness touched many hearts, among them was his next door neighbors Ann and Phil in such a way that they accepted him into their lives as an adopted son. He was a simple man that hardly wanted to ask anyone for help; but he would help out where he could when he could, whether it was providing a home for our Nana, helping our mom get a badly needed car or dropping everything to be with his family at a very needed time. Even in pain he was a person that did not want others to feel that they needed to help him. He handled his diagnosis with such bravery and grace. We all wish we could have had more time with him but we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering. We love you Darril, your infectious smile and caring heart will be in our memories forever.
