David Michael Hammer

David Michael Hammer was born on April 29,1957 in Dallas, Texas and passed away on December 30, 2020 in Mesquite, Texas at the age of 63. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Josephine Hammer.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home at 1111 Military Parkway, Mesquite, Texas. Funeral will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Layton officiating. Burial will be at Locust Grove Cemetery, 13679 Hiram Rd, Wills Point, Texas.

David is survived by his four children: Clayton Hammer, wife Ouida of Little Elm, Joshua Hammer, wife Paige Roberson of Collinsville, Chase Hammer, wife Jamicia of Forney, and Casi Hammer, wife Melissa of Henderson. Grandchildren: Kaylee and Kristin Roberts of Henderson, Orlicia Hall of Forney, Olivia and Ella Hammer of Little Elm, Makaila Flowers, Johnny and Dylan Roberson of Collinsville. Siblings: Carolyn Howey of Mesquite, Ralph Hammer, wife Marsha of Allen, and Kenny Hammer of Mesquite.

David was a huge sports fan who loved the Dallas Cowboys. He was a dedicated fan whether they won or lost. He loved to make everyone laugh at his jokes and stories. David loved his family more than anything and cherished all of his children and spoke of them often. He was hard working and believed in providing for his family. David was a delivery driver who delivered bread for 30 years and took pride in his profession.

Pallbearers will be Clayton Hammer, Joshua Hammer, Chase Hammer, Ralph Hammer, Kenny Hammer, Kevin Long, Ricky White and Raymond Howey.
