  Our beloved Grandma always welcomed us into her home and treated us like family. The amount of hospitality she offered us is unparalleled.
She gave us unconditional love and guidance.  

When I was introduced to grandma I found my family on this side of the world.  She loved to spend time with my mom like an old friend and adored my children.   Grandma absolutely loved the cakes and cookies I baked. 

I went hunting and fishing with grandma and Fermin.  I even  went with grandma when she ran errands.  Everywhere I went with her she introduced me as her grand daughter.   Every time I went to visit grandma she wanted me to stay longer.  Every time I left her house she asked me " Bithe when you come back again?" Grandma's fond memories will always live in my heart and make me happy.

Sylvia 

Graciela Fernandez, Mother of Sylvia Williams, Martha Rios and Isela Daugherty. 

She was a great mother not only was she a great mother she was a home engineer, chef, caterer, Restaurant Owner and anything that she could buy trade or sell.

She had an abundance of energy not just for herself but to help others in anyway that she could. Not only family but friends in need, whether you needed a place to stay while you were going to college, whether you needed a place to stay while you were looking for an apartment, or whether you needed a place until you found a job, or a place to stay after school. She was always there to help. 

She loved her family especially her daughters, nieces, nephews and grand children, she was always there to help in anyway.

Graciela was born in Acuna Mexico border of the Del Río Texas traveled to California before marrying. 

When she started a family she wanted to bring her daughters to the big city to give them better opportunities. She sacrificed her time with her mother, father and siblings to offer a better future for her daughters.

She was always full of energy and had a very positive attitude, anything was possible. However, if there was ever an argument she could become a little firecracker and definitely put up a good fight. 

If you came to her home you would never leave hungry, she always had big meals ready for whoever came to her home. There wasn’t a week they didn’t have anyone over to visit, I know I was there all the time. 

Her passion was the outdoors, nature was her hobby. Her favorite hunt was for deer, However, fishing was a greater passion. Pensacola Florida was a favorite for vacation fishing. But Tawakonni was a closer lake to fish and boy did she ever fish! Every time the weather was nice she had the line in the water.

That was our Mami Graciela.

Even though I didn’t have the pleasure to meet this sweet lady I know through her daughter Sylvia that she was an amazing lady and lived a good life. I know her sweet presence will be missed and I my heart goes out to the family in this time of great loss.  I wish her Godspeed with our maker and we all have another angel on our shoulders to watch over us as we live this life on earth.  May peace be with the family at this time.
