

Henry Bishop Hughes, 88, passed away on November 14, 2021 in Seagoville, Texas. He was born on May 11, 1933 to his loving parents Henry Bishop Hughes and Jessie Mae Zilliox. He attended Crozier Tech High School in Dallas, Texas and proudly played the drums in the World War II parade that marked the end of the war. He went onto marry the love of his life, Marguerite Riggs, on September 6, 1952 and together they had six children. They were married 69 beautiful years. Henry built a career as a Butcher for A&P and Minyards Food Stores in the Dallas area for more than 70 years.
In his spare time, Henry was happiest doing yardwork, and planting flowers and vegetables. He was skilled in woodworking and enjoyed crafts in different mediums. Henry loved music, and was a talented guitarist. His friends and family will always remember him as a devoted husband and loving father, and a friendly, outgoing person who was always helping those in need.
Henry is preceded in death by his mother, Jessie M. Stegall of Dallas, TX; daughter, Cathy J. Hughes; grandson, Trey W. Morris; and brother, Jackie Hughes. He is survived by his wife Marguerite Hughes of Seagoville, TX; daughters Carol Avery of Dallas, TX, Mary Morris of Kemp, TX, Angela Sandidge of Lindale, TX, and Julie North and husband Jerry of Point, TX; sister, Mary J. Ramsey of Ft. Gibson, OK; and niece, Cynthia Wade and husband Tom of Ft. Gibson, OK; grandson, Aaron Hughes; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and grand nieces - nephews.
