Jerome Vincent Flynn passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014 at his home in Dallas, TX. He was born on July 11, 1928 in Omaha, Nebraska, the only child to John and Helen Flynn. He attended Catholic Schools, and was a Jesuit seminarian for seven years before meeting Norma Ann Folda. Jerry and Norma wed in October, 1957 and were married 56 years, until Norma passed away last year. Jerry worked in container sales for most of his career, but his biggest passion was AA, where he was a friend and mentor to many for 32 years. Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his children Karen Singler McDaniel and her husband Sam, Susan Flynn his middle child and caregiver, Dianne Field and husband Greg. He is also survived by grandchildren Kristin Ewing and husband Jonathan, Maegan Heathcock and husband Patrick, Lauren Singler, Drew Field and Katie Field. Jerry is preceded in death by Norma and their infant daughter Madonna and grandson Dalton Singler. “Pa” was a loving father, grandfather, and a man of strong faith. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and as “a good man” by all that knew him. Serenity prayer God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as the pathway to peace. Taking as Jesus did this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will; that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
