Joe Edward King

Joe Edward King, age 90, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 in Dallas, Texas two days shy of his 91st birthday. He was born on January 27, 1933 in Dunn, Texas to Warren and Iva King. Joe was raised in West, Texas in his early years then to Center, Texas just northeast of Nacogdoches, Texas where he graduated from Center High School in 1950. He married Frances McCauley on January 31, 1952 after a year and a half of marriage, we went to serve in the Korean War, the couple then had two children. He worked in the construction business his entire life.

In his spare time Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and collecting antiques. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a very active, lifelong member of the Mesquite Church of Christ. His family and friends will always remember him as a kind hearted person who was always willing to help someone in need.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 71 years, Frances King and sons, Terry King and wife Vicki and Tony King and wife, Kaori and a host of extended family members.

A visitation for Joe will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mesquite Church of Christ, 400 W Davis St, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A funeral service will occur Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 400 W Davis St, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A committal service will occur Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park, 12649 Lake June Rd, Balch Springs, Texas 75180.
