Joel Anthony Back

Joel Anthony Back, age 58, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. He was born June 12, 1962 in Denver, Colorado to Daniel Broadhead and Arian Carson. Joel was raised in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Richardson High School in 1980.

He was a metal specialist at 4G Metals where he worked for one year. In his spare time, Joel enjoyed camping, kayaking, being with his family and riding his motorcycle. His family and friends will always remember him as a great brother, true friend and a great uncle.

Joel is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Brodhead; brother, Justin Brodhead; brother-in-law, Britton Jones; Al Back and Bob Carson. He is survived by mother, Arian Carson; step-mother, Arlene Broadhead; sisters, Julie Avila and husband, Jesse, Liz Taylor and Paula Jones; step-sisters, Yondale Mears, Sherry Owens, Mary Dinger and Nancy Styron; nephews, Jeremy Moore and wife, Kassie, Daniel Moore and wife, Leslie and Brian Jones; the love of his life, Lora Thornton and her children, Cory and Ginny Thornton; great-nieces and nephews and a host of extended family members.

A celebration of life for Joel will be held Monday, March 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, Texas 75149.
