Maria Elena Ortega

Maria Elena Ortega (Nena), age 47, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. She was born February 26, 1974 in Ceibas de Trujillo Michoacan Mexico to Belizario Ortega and Maria Campuzano. Maria was raised in Zitacuaro, Michoacán. She married Sirenio Valdez in 2000 and the couple had 3 children. Maria was a seamstress, saleswomen, business women and stay at home mom. In her spare time, Maria enjoyed hosting bible studies, serving God, being with family, dancing, singing karaoke, shopping, going on vacation, sharing the word of God and motivating others to start living a healthy lifestyle.

Maria was met at the pearly gates by her father, Belizario Ortega. Left to cherish her memories is her mother, Maria Campuzano; husband, Sirenio Valdez; children, Yuri, Joe, and Evelet; grandson, Damien; sisters, Silvia, Marbella, Alejandra, Yaneth, and Elitania Ortega and brothers, Belizario and Horacio Ortega.

Mom will always be remembered as a true warrior. Her strength was seen from miles away and she fought cancer... you can honestly say she beat it because she never stopped living life or lost her faith, she never gave up or showed weakness. She brought light to others darkness, she was loving, kind, wise, caring, honest, funny, and was always the life of the party. She was someone that was so blessed and thankful through any hardship or situation. She always said "how am I not suppose to thank God for all of this." Her story will be told over and over again to show others that God can give you strength during the hardest times in life. We celebrate her life because "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16

A visitation for Maria will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM, 1111 Military Pkwy, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A committal service will occur Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd., Dallas, Texas 75228.

Nacida en el seno de una familia humilde mexicana, su padre Belizario Ortega Torres, fue intérprete de la música Tradicional Mexicana. Y Maria Campuzano Soto, una distinguida modista. En el año de 1989 se unió en matrimonio con Gustavo Jimenez, dando a luz a su hija mayor Yuritzi En el año 2000 contrajo matrimonio con Sirenio Valdez, con quien procreo 2 hijos Mario y Evelet.

Maria era una costurera, vendedora, mujer de negocios y ama de casa. En su tiempo libre, a Maria le encantaba organizar estudios bíblicos, servir a Dios, estar y disfrutar con su familia, bailar, cantar karaoke, ir de compras, ir de vacaciones, y motivar a otros a empezar a vivir un estilo de vida saludable.

Maria fue recibida en las puertas perladas por su padre, Belizario Ortega. Se quedan a apreciar sus recuerdos su madre, Maria Campuzano, su esposo, Sirenio Valdez; sus hijos, Yuri, Joe, y Evelet; su nieto, Damien; y sus hermanos, Silvia, Marbella, Belizario, Alejandra, Yaneth, Horacio y Elitania Ortega.

Maria será recordada como una verdadera guerrera, su fuerza fue vista desde kilómetros de distancia luchando contra el cáncer., se puede decir honestamente que lo venció porque nunca dejó de vivir la vida o perdió su fe, nunca se rindió o mostró debilidad. Ella trajo luz a otras tinieblas, era cariñosa, amable, sabia, honesta, divertida, y siempre fue la estrella de la fiesta. Fue tan bendecida y agradecida a través de cualquier dificultad o situación, siempre dijo “ Como no voy a dar gracias a Dios por todo esto.” Su historia será contada una y otra vez para mostrar a los demás que Dios puede dar fuerza durante los momentos más difíciles de la vida. Celebramos su vida porque “Tanto amó a Dios al mundo, que no dudó en entregarle a su Hijo único, para que todo el que crea en él no perezca, sino tenga vida eterna.” - Juan 3:16

Un dia que estaba muy mal, con dolor, vómito, y muy débil Ella dijo “ Con todo lo que me ha dado Dios, esto no es NADA” - Gloria A DIos!!!!
