Michelle James “Red” Lewis, born May 24, 1960, in Mobile, Alabama, entered eternal rest on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025. He was the beloved son of the late Jean Tinsley Lewis and Van Lewis, and made his home in Sunnyvale, Texas.
Michelle was a proud 1978 graduate of Cedar Grove Academy in Prichard, Alabama. Shortly after, he began his service to our nation, faithfully serving in the United States Navy from 1978 to 1986. Following his military career, he continued his dedication to hard work and community through his years with the U.S. Post Office.
On April 15, 1986, in Berkeley, California, he married the love of his life, Rochelle Daniel. Together they built a beautiful life, first in Oakland, California, and eventually settling in Dallas, Texas, where they raised their family and created lasting memories.
Michelle was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Tinsley; his mother, Jean Tinsley Lewis; his father, Van Lewis; and his brother, Brodrick Tinsley.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and laughter. Cherishing his memory are his devoted wife, Rochelle Lewis; his son, Kiethan Lewis, and wife Ashley; and his greatest joys, his grandchildren Aiden and Ava. He is also survived by his godson, Van Allen Michael Miller, and his goddaughter Dequincy Simple; his brothers, Brent Lewis and Patrick Tinsley; his sisters, Angelia Lewis and Denise Lewis; his sister- and brother-in-law; and a large circle of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his cherished Cowboys Regulators family.
Michelle lived with purpose, loved fiercely, and touched countless hearts. His legacy will continue to shine through all who knew and loved him.
