Robert Lynn Darling

Lynn proudly served in the United States Army from 1968-1971 and was a Vietnam Veteran. He retired after teaching at Skyline High School in Dallas for 19 years and Ben Barber Career Tech in Mansfield for 9 years.

He was a soldier, guitarist, ham radio operator, auto mechanic and restorer, helicopter pilot and builder and was very passionate about every venture. Lynn was a wonderful teacher, who had a strong connection with his students, most likely because of his mischievous nature and supportive manner. Lynn was a great father, friend, and band member, and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in Heaven by his father, Raleigh White Darling, and mother, Margaret Waggoner Darling. He is survived by his son, Robert Nicholas Darling of Waxahachie, TX; grandsons, Robert Aaron Darling and Gavin Michael Darling, and a Loving Partner, Sherri Smith of Dallas, TX.

In lieu of flowers we are asking that a donation be made in Lynn’s name to charity of your choice.

A visitation for Lynn will be held Monday, February 7, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. The family will have a reception following services at Grove Hill Funeral Home
