

William was born in Tupelo Mississippi on 26 October 1919, to Burton D. Turner and Emma Tursie Hall Turner. William was married to Ann B. Casey on 17 March 1946; they were married 60 years.
William served in the U.S. Marine Corps from March 1939 to September 1945 with a rank of Platoon Sergeant. He participated in three World War II campaigns; Guadalcanal, Eastern New Guinea, and New Britain. After the war William worked for General Electric for 30 years. He enjoyed growing flowers and other plants; he always had a green thumb. He was also a very active reader.
William is preceded in death by Burton Turner “Father”, Emma Turner “Mother”, Wyatt Turner “Brother”, Mildred Turner “Sister”, Ann Turner “Wife, William Turner Jr. “Son”, and Paul Turner “Son”.
William is survived by his grandchildren Matthew Turner, Ryan Turner, great grandchildren Brookelynn, Harper, Abigail, Emerie, and Maverick, and other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 10 AM on 24 February 2025 at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home in Mesquite Texas. Funeral will be on 24 February 2025 at 10 AM at Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home in Mesquite Texas with Chaplain David Barger officiating. Committal will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
