

Albert Peter Bode, Jr., passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the age of 84.
Born November 11, 1925 to Albert P. Bode and Rose Vaz Bode. Husband of Christina Wich Bode for 23 years. Former husband of the late Claire Schmitt Bode. Father of Albert Bode, III, Chris J. Bode, Nancy B. Kritikos, and the late Richard A. Bode. Step father of Joseph LaBruzza, Jr., Rebecca L. Osteen, and Brian P. LaBruzza. Father-in-law of Mary Gravois Bode, Constantinos Kritikos, Debbie Armstrong, & Kimberly Stromeyer LaBruzza. Former father-in-law of Terry McAuliffe.
Grandfather of Alison B. & Ryan Bourgeois, & the Bode boys: Kit, Sean, Kyle & David; and Allyson, Jordin & Jenna LaBruzza, Mark Horne & Erin Popich. Great grandfather of Collin, Sophia, Gage, and Makayla Bode and Jack Bourgeois. Very special uncle to Skip and Ann Bode and sons – Keith, Kevin, and Ken. Father-in-law of Wayne and April Lee. Honorary grandpa of the Pearlington gang. Brother of Rose Bode Rome and the late Eldoris, Gerald, Raymond Bode and Leah Bode Lea. Brother-in-law of Andre Rome, Catherine Bode, Teresa Eagerton, Stephen and Diana Wich, Burt Wich and Jodi House. Son-in-law of Anna D. Wich. After serving in WWII, he worked as an electrician with IBEW Local 130 and opened his own business in 1960. He was the founder and owner of Bode Electric, Inc for 30 years before retiring in 1989. His company did much of the electrical work involved in the construction of schools in Jefferson Parish and the Archdiocese of New Orleans in the 1960’s. He established a reputation for consistently good work and dependable and knowledgeable employees. He was a member of the Krewe of Carrollton for over 50 years and reigned as King in 1997. He was the first King in the history of the Krewe to reign with a granddaughter , Alison, as his Queen. That was the highlight of his later years, as he was a devoted member of the Krewe. He also cooked for the monthly meetings for many years, earning the name of Chef Boy-R-Bode.
He was a member of IBEW Local 130 for 65+ years. He was also a member of the IBEW Local 130 Retirees Club and Metairie Lions Club. I haven’t had this much fun since…………………………. He has fought the good fight, he has kept the faith. May he rest in peace. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. He has gone to be with his beloved Ricky. Give him a hug from us. Relatives and friends of the family, as well as members of IBEW Local 130, Metairie Lions Club, Krewe of Carrollton, and all former employees of Bode Electric, Inc are invited to attend the Funeral from St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, 901 Beverly Garden Dr. on Saturday September 18, 2010 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon.
