Alfred Joseph Boese

Alfred Joseph Boese, age 88, of New Orleans, LA passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025. Alfred was born on November 14, 1936 in New Orleans, LA to Matilda Bourgeois Boese and Alfred Herman Ludwig Boese.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Matilda and Alfred Boese; his sister, Mary Boese Chappetta; his brother-in-law, Vincent F. Tortorich, Sr.; and his nieces, Donna Tortorich and Tammy Tortorich.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Sera Tortorich Boese; his sister-in-law, Rosalie Tortorich Boudreaux; his brothers-in-law, Anthony Tortorich, Jr. and Jacques Boudreaux; his nieces and nephews, Vincent F. Tortorich, Jr., Melissa Tortorich Adamcewicz, Tasha Munsen Robinson, Tanya Munsen Desalvo, Karen Hughes Muller, Debbie Hamilton Bossier, Kathy Hughes Fruge, Christine Tortorich and Michael Tortorich.

Alfred served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post 307. Alfred loved his family and his community. He loved to reminisce about growing up in New Orleans playing stickball in the streets. As an adult he gave back to his community by serving underprivileged children and adults. His selflessness was a wonderful trait and his deep love will be missed by his family and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 1:00pm. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until 1:00pm. interment will follow in St. Vincent de Paul Mausoleum, New Orleans, LA.
