Alice Franek Snee

Alice Franek Snee of River Ridge, LA passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at the age of 84. She was the beloved wife of the late James “Donald” Snee, Jr. and will be deeply missed by her three children: Alice “Cathy” Snee, Patty Sibley (husband, Greg) and James “Jay” Snee and her two grandchildren: Chris and Steven Sibley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard J. Franek and Alice Holton Franek and her two sisters, Marion Snee and Betty Early.

Alice was born on July 6, 1928 in New Orleans, LA. She graduated from St. Louis Cathedral School and the Academy of the Holy Angels and attended Tulane University. She was employed by the First National Bank of Commerce and also served as secretary/treasurer of Snee Lumber Company. She was a parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church where she served as Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Society of St. Therese Circle 65. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, working crossword puzzles and going to the beach with her family.

The family wishes to thank the nurses, Angie and Frannie, along with her caregivers: Stella, Jasmine and Ta’Maya for their care and compassion.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
