

Allen Marks, a New Orleans native and uptown resident died surrounded by his family on June 15, 2012. Born August 4th, 1947, the youngest child of Sam and Mathilde Marks, he is survived by his father, his son, Max Marks and his sister Meryl Rosenbloom.
He enjoyed many activities. Volunteering for local non-profits, he served on the board of the LA/SPCA, the Jewish Community Center, volunteered at Children’s Hospital and worked for Habitat for Humanity. Allen was a 1st Lieutenant in Signal Corp. in the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam era.
He was co-owner and vice president of Marks Paper Company and active in the National Paper Trade Association. He served as president of the Young Executives Forum for the NPTA.
He graduated from New Orleans Academy (1965) and from the University of Alabama (1969).
Memorial service will be held at Temple Sinai, 6227 St. Charles Ave., on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 3:00 pm with visitation beginning at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to LA/SPCA, Marks Park at the Jewish Community Center or Temple Sinai.
