Alton Joseph Martin Jr

Alton Joseph Martin, Jr., passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010. Age 81 years, a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Jefferson Parish for the past 45 years. Beloved husband of the late Doris Fairchild Martin. Loving father of Pamela Ann Martin (Michael) of River Ridge, LA and Melissa M. Suthoff (AB) of St. Rose, LA. Son of the late Alton J. Martin, Sr. and Estelle Faustermann Martin. Brother of Marilyn M. Adams (Raymond). Brother in law of Caramia Fairchild and the late Sonny Fairchild.

Mr. Al was a Grand Knight of New Orleans Council 714, Knights of Columbus and a member of ETA TAU SIGMA NEW ORLEANS (THE DRAGONS) and The Jesters. He retired from William B. Riley Company as a District Manager after 35 years of devoted service. Following his retirement, he worked as a Funeral Attendant for the former New Orleans Limousine Company and the Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery for the past several years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass from the Chapel of Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Followed by interment in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM on Tuesday.
