

Anthony Leon Golemi, Jr. “Tony” of Kenner, Louisiana, age 66, passed away Saturday, May 26, after a long term battle with ITP Disorder. Born on July 3, 1945, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Tony attended De La Salle High School and graduated with a B.S. from Southeastern Louisiana University. He was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity, which led him to meet his beloved wife of 42 years, Patricia Pierce Golemi.
Tony was a loving husband to Patricia and a wonderful father of his three children, Michael Anthony Golemi (Alexandra), Jennifer Golemi de Oliveira (Eliel), and Todd Patrick Golemi (Meredith). He was a devoted Grandfather of Amir, Layne de Oliveira, Isabella, Harrison, Dominic, Collins, Catarina and the late Nicholas Golemi. He is also survived by his sisters Judy Spadafora (Ray) and Susan Surcouf (Billy), as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Anthony Leon Golemi Sr. and Margaret Favaloro Golemi.
Tony began his career with Chiquita Banana in 1968, utilizing his charisma and honesty to become a successful salesman, then applying those skills as he joined his parents in business as a General Contractor and Realtor, eventually becoming a Real Estate Broker. He worked closely with his sister Sue, his father, Anthony Sr., and other family members, where they constructed over 400 custom built homes and numerous commercial buildings. He served as a director on the Home Builders Association Board and spent the last eleven years as President of Golemi Homes, LLC.
Tony lived his life fully and sincerely, with gusto and passion. He loved to travel, especially on cruises, and always returned with a colorful story. He lived for the day without any regrets and loved his family with all of his heart. Tony Golemi will forever be remembered for his integrity, generosity, and uncanny wit.
Visitation will be held at Leitz-Egan Funeral Home Tuesday, 4747 Veterans Blvd., May 29, at 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 30, at St. Ann Church, 3601 Transcontinental Drive, Metairie at 12:00 p.m. with visitation at church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment immediately following at Metairie Cemetery. Following services, the family will receive friends at the home of the late Margaret and Anthony Golemi in Kenner.
