Arthur Hoye Johnson

Arthur H. Johnson, 65, suddenly passed away on Wednesday morning, August 9, 2017. He was a native of Richmond, California and a longtime resident of Kenner, Louisiana. He was the beloved husband of Alice Winton Johnson of over 26 years. Loving father of Emily Ruth Johnson. Brother of Ruth Johnson. Son of the late Bertram and Evelyn White Johnson. Uncle of Kayla Campbell. Also survived by many other cousins, relatives, and friends. “Art” graduated from Arcadia High School and Humboldt State University in California, and attended Graduate School at LSU. He began his career as a Geologist with Gulf Oil and Chevron, and was a managing member and founding partner of Hydrate Energy International. Art was a longtime active and faithful member of Munholland UMC. He was a member of numerous professional societies, including serving as President of the New Orleans Geological Society from 2007-2008. Over the years, he received many professional awards and his work was published on many occasions throughout his career. He enjoyed music, and sang in the Choir at Munholland UMC and was also a member of New Orleans Mardi Gras Chorus. Art will be sincerely missed by many many people. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial at Munholland UMC, 1201 Metairie Road, Metairie, Louisiana 70005, on Friday afternoon, August 18, 2017 at 2:00. A reception will follow.
