

Aubrey Wild, 91, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Metairie for over 50 years departed this life peacefully at home on Saturday, January 21, 2023. Preceded in death by his late wife and high school sweetheart Irma G. Wild, his parents Oscar Wild, father and Leonie Kessling, mother, and his three brothers, Charles Lee, Oscar and Leslie Wild. Aubrey is survived by his only son Aubrey J Wild Jr (Karen) and his two granddaughter’s Rylee and Sydnee Wild.
Aubrey joined the military at a very young age to help support his family. He retired Honorably from the service after 20 plus years in the Army, his rank at retirement was a Warrant Officer. After serving his country he joined the United States Post Office and retired as a Postal Supervisor in Metairie. After the post office he became a casino supervisor at River City in New Orleans. Aubrey became a private pilot and flew for the civil air patrol in New Orleans. He was a military golf champion and a very proficient bowler.
Later in life Aubrey enjoyed spending time with his new love Gilda Stire who preceded him in death. Aubrey got his second wind with Gilda and they enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, going to church together, and watching his grandchildren grow up. They were inseparable.
Funeral services will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 1:00pm. Visitation will begin at 11am. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA. In lieu of flowers donations to Wounded Warriors is preferred.
