Augusta Sophie E. Birkhoff, age 92, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Machiel Birkhoff. Mother of Robert Birkhoff (wife, Janice), William Birkhoff, Fousya Christenson (husband, David) and Cornelis Birkhoff (wife, Terry). Grandmother of Lydia Landry (husband, Dale), Del Birkhoff, Suraya Birkhoff (husband, Brian Poto), Nicole Gossiaux and Christina Montoya (husband, Kenneth). Sister of Rudolph Van Dalm (wife, Wies) and the late Jules Van Dalm and Max Van Dalm. Daughter of the late Eduard Van Dalm and Fien Coenraad Van Dalm. Also survived by great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Birkhoff was a retired employee of Sears. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie on Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM and on Monday, July 6, 2015 beginning at 11:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
