Barbara Ann Moran

Barbara Ann Moran, age 82, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025. She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Clements Moran Esteves; her father, Joseph E. Moran Sr. and her stepfather, Paul A. Esteves.

She is survived by her brother, Joseph E. Moran Jr. (Deborah); her niece, Beth Moran Faulstich (Brent Beaumont); her nephew, Brian J. Moran (Jennifer) and her great nieces and nephews, Gage Faulstich, Tristen Nicole Faulstich, Brielle Beaumont, Eva, Gabriel, Murphy and Rori Jean Moran.

Barbara grew up in the Irish Channel and graduated from Alceé Fortier before moving to Metairie with her family. She graduated from UNO and travelled to New York and California to pursue theater and acting.

Barbara lived for the arts. She was in plays at NORD, worked at The Beverly and was involved with the Children’s Theatre in Kenner. She sang in a band during the 60’s and 70’s and loved playing the piano at home.

Writing stories was a passion of Barbara’s. She attended numerous writers’ clinics all over the country for many years.

Barbara was an avid painter and had many tablets of drawings she created. She did paintings for her Aunt and Uncle of a portrait of their beloved dog Missy.

Most of all she loved her family and was always there to help with her niece and nephew, participating in all their activities as they grew up.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., in Metairie, LA on Saturday, August 9, 2025 beginning at 9:00 AM with a memorial service to follow at 10:30 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
