Mr. Bennie P. Davis

Bennie P. Davis, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 20, 2011. Mr. Davis was a native of Hammond, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA for over 70 years. Beloved husband of the late Christine Davis. Son of the late Willie Davis and Elthee Langlois Davis. He is survived by many loving family members and friends. Mr. Davis was the owner of Marks Key Shop and Marks TV Repair Shop in New Orleans and was a parishioner of St. Theresa of Avila Church. He was a WWII U.S. Marine Corp veteran and recipient of both the Purple Heart and Presidential Citation. Mr. Davis was a very kind and generous person. He volunteered his time at nursing homes, feeding residents and spending time with them. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Monday, June 6, 2011 beginning at 11:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. Interment will be in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Mr. Davis’ name to St. Charles Health Center, 1539 Delachaise St., New Orleans, LA 70115 or to the veterans charity of your choice.
