Bernice Totaro Benedetto

Bernice Totaro Benedetto, age 96 years, a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Metairie, LA passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 of natural causes at the Georgia residence of her grandson and family. Wife of the late Bryon Benedetto, Sr. Mother of the late Byron Benedetto, Jr. Daughter of the late Virginia Junda and Emile Tataro. Sister of Ethel Lasalle and the late Salvador Totaro, Katie Fredrick, Joseph Totaro, Annie Signorelli, Rosalie Cervini, Rita Kimball, and Emile Totaro Jr. Grandmother of Rick Benedetto and Michael Benedetto and survived by 6 great grandchildren, Misty Vix, Michael Jr., Christopher, Geoffrey, Madison and Maura, and 3 great great grandchildren, Mia Vix, Sophia Vix, Gavin Benedetto.

Mrs. Benedetto was a lifelong resident of the New Orleans area. She retired in 1985 as Director of Adoptions for the City of New Orleans and was the proprietor of Club Misty on Jefferson Hwy after the passing of her dear friend Frank Martinez. She was known for her giving spirit and creative talents and touched all that knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass from the Metairie home of THARP-SONTHEIMER-THARP, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd. at 43rd St. on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 1:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
