

Betty Rubins Solomon Madoff, the widow of Dr. Bernard M. Solomon and Dr. Morton A. Madoff, died on October 10, 2011 at her home in New Orleans, Louisiana after a long illness. She was 78 years old. Mrs. Madoff was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 18, 1933, the only child of Irving and Eva Redman Rubins. After graduating from Sophie Newcomb College, she was married to Dr. Bernard M. Solomon for 30 years. Mrs. Madoff was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and brought great joy with her flair and love for life. She is survived by her two children, Mollie Solomon Herman and Rusty Solomon as well as four grandchildren, Adam Herman, Bernard Jeremy Solomon, Alexandra Solomon, and Bette Solomon. She was predeceased by her grandson, Bernard H. Herman and her son-in-law, Avram C. Herman. The family wishes to express its great thanks to her dear friend and caretaker, Paul Wilner.
Graveside services will take place on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 4:30 PM in Hebrew Rest Cemetery No. 3, 2100 Pelopidas at Frenchmen Sts. with Rabbi Alexis Berk officiating.
