Betty Sue Redmond McCaskill passed away at her home in Covington on March 27, 2023 at the age of 94. She was the widow of Ross, her beloved husband of 62 years. She is survived by her devoted son Craig of Covington, daughters, and sons-in-law, Marcia and Shawn Mackay of Baton Rouge and Kay and Camp Morrison of New Orleans, and five grandchildren: Sarah Mackay, Matthew Mackay (Danielle), Andrew Mackay, Flynn Morrison, and Annabel Morrison, and one great-grandchild, Ross Mackay. Betty is also survived by her best friend and special niece, Dee Mayeaux and her husband Sonny of Mandeville, two special nieces, Sylvia Streeter and Susie Redmond of Florida, and a special "niece-in-law," Sandy Nelson of Covington as well as other nieces and nephews.
Betty was a stay-at-home mom and insisted the following be included, written in her own words. She felt that her most blessed, rewarding privilege in life was to have these children who made her and their late father very proud and happy and filled their lives with so much devotion, caring, and love. She was also blessed to have five grandchildren to love and enjoy and two loved sons-in-law. Betty was a long-time member of Oak Park Baptist Church in New Orleans.
The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers, Ann Taylor and Gertrude Morris, and the Anvoi Hospice team.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 10 AM on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Betty’s name to Shriners Children's Hospital.
